Helping and Healing

TBI is committed to empowering our community to better the lives of others. At TBI, social action can take the form of participating in various food drives to help the hungry in and around our surrounding communities, to walking in a walkathon, to rasing funds for a broader-based charity.

Our Be A Mench (BAM) program is the umbrella committee for all social action. You can Be A Mench by visiting a sick congregant, attending a shiva minyan so a mourner can say Kaddish or volunteeromg, donating to a charity drive or becoming a madrihim in our Religious School. Our Be A Mench program reaches all levels of the TBI community, whether its our Preschool Mitzvah Makers donating pajams for those children who have none, our Religious School students who participate in a monthly cooking program in which they shop, cook and deliver meals so someone in need, or our adults who coordinate our yearly Mitzvah Day programs that brings the entire TBI community together for a day of giving.
